Like all Church of England parishes, St James has to generate its own income to sustain its ongoing ministry as well as maintain the church (a Grade 2 listed building) and graveyard. Over the years we have sought to maximise our resources while balancing the needs of a worshipping community. We rely on donations to support our ongoing ministry, maintain our historic building, and care for those around us in the wider community.
Your financial support will allow us to continue looking after the spiritual needs of people living and working locally, to keep our building open during the week, to welcome tourists and visitors, to provide a space for concerts and exhibitions, and to make St James a place of Encounter & Discovery and a Community of Hope for future generations. It costs around £20,000 per year to maintain our ministry, and your generosity is greatly appreciated. Sadly our income has been significantly reduced this year because of the Coronavirus pandemic and the future is still uncertain, so we would particularly welcome your support at this challenging time.
You can make a donation by credit or debit card on the Give as you Live website. (If you are a UK tax payer, please tick the Gift Aid box on the donation page.)
